This weekend is Silent Sidelines. Comments from spectators that can be heard by players, referees or opponents are to be avoided. Applause is permitted and encouraged.

A reminder before games this weekend:

CSRP has implemented Give the Game Back to the Kids initiative. Referees should deal with inappropriate behavior by adults and spectators according to this protocol: https://www.ctreferee.net/give-the-game-back-to-the-kids/

The Laws of the Game specify the offenses that result in yellow and red card for players and coaches: https://www.theifab.com/laws/latest/fouls-and-misconduct/ -action

Unusual incidents, including ejections, must be noted in a supplemental report. CSRP has this guide to help write supplementals: https://www.ctreferee.net/supplemental-report-guide-2/

The final four field sessions for the Spring are now scheduled. These are the last opportunities to complete the in-person requirement of new referee training.

Officials can learn new skills, make new friends, and earn money while being part of the game. New referee certification requires a combination of online and in-person courses. The online courses can be done at your own pace. For more information and to begin registration visit: https://www.ctreferee.net/become-a-referee
