After 11 years of faithful volunteer service at San Miguel Academy, Father Michael Hoag, S.J. will be departing for his full retirement in Massachusetts.
Father Mike taught for 50 years before retiring to the Jesuit Retreat House in Cornwall, NY.
Father Mike, not one to sit around, offered his expertise to bolster student outcomes at SMA. Eleven years later we are sad to see Father Mike move on from our area. We wish him well as he departs, as this morning the students extended to him our deepest gratitude for his time among us.
As the Jesuits say, Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

San Miguel Academy 8th graders were at the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust yesterday. San Miguel Academy partners with the Rabbi Erwin Zimet Foundation to support its holocaust studies program featuring a yearly trip to the Museum in New York City. Throughout the year, themes from the Holocaust–courage, resilience, the value of human life, and tolerance, especially as it relates to exploring other cultures–are woven into the humanities curriculum for all students at San Miguel Academy.
San Miguel Academy will never forget.
