La inscripción para el Parque Javier Luna se llevará a cabo este lunes a las 5:00 PM.

Camp 2 U es un programa único de enriquecimiento de verano diseñado para llevar actividades, educación, recursos y oportunidades directamente a las comunidades donde viven los niños. En lugar de que las familias tengan que trasladarse por toda la ciudad, Marc’s Friends llevará la diversión, el aprendizaje y la participación directamente a los parques y espacios comunitarios de los vecindarios.

Instead of requiring families to travel across the city, Marc’s Friends will bring the fun, learning, and engagement right to local parks and neighborhood spaces..

Our goal is to help children from all areas of Newburgh build friendships, connect with one another, and create positive relationships that extend beyond the neighborhoods they live in. Camp 2 U encourages community engagement, teamwork, and personal growth while providing a safe and exciting environment throughout the summer.

60+ families, over 2,000 lbs. of food, and a level of impact that can be measured by the conversations heard throughout this event of pure thankfulness!!! THIS IS WHY WE DO IT….

When Marcs Friends attaches itself to ANY person or project, we support the people with nothing but love and respect … AND REAL IMPACT!!

I would like to thank my daughter, Chrisanni, for showing up even when she is not getting paid or receiving accolades!

A huge thank you to my cousin Nicky and Kia, who see my heart and will help at the drop of a dime to organize these impactful givebacks . They help with a lot of behind-the-scenes pickups, logistics, setups, and breakdowns. Wherever they are needed, no role is too big or too small for them to jump in. Thank you, ladies, so much. A lot of the work that Marcs Friends does would not be possible without your support and help!!!

A special thank you to VIP Auto on VanNess Street in Newburgh for allowing us to use their vehicle two days in a row to gather all of the supplies needed for this event and charging us pennies compared to the normal rates. Please do not forget to patronize businesses like this. They give back in abundance to local people and community endeavors, and their generosity helps make impactful events like this possible.

Thank you to Pastor McLymore for connecting me to Geter, a fellow Newburgh resident I was already acquainted and friends with, but helping bring us together to do the first Get Back when it was really cold out. Thank you for making him feel comfortable enough to reach out and helping pull together this event. Thank you for trusting us to help fuel it and put the muscle behind getting supplies to these deserving families. Nobody should have to go without when there are so many agencies that can come together and make resources available.

I would also like to thank DCJS Project RISE, the Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan & Rockland, and from that agency, a special shout-out to Biz Rowley and Lisa, my lifelines from the beginning!

Another big thank you to some of the newer organizations that have been supportive over the past three years, including the Regional Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and our partnership with Hannaford. Without all of these people working together, events like this cannot happen.

With so many people in the world doing the talking, let’s be more of the doers. Impact comes from consistent work!!!

As Marc’s Friends continues to grow, so do the needs of the community we serve.

We are excited to announce a new partnership with VIP Auto Sales, who will be assisting us with transportation and logistical support for food pantry operations, field trips, special events, supply pickups, and those long-distance runs that often have to be completed by our team.

As our programs expand, it is important that we build strong partnerships that help us move efficiently and continue serving our community at the highest level.

We want to make it clear that we will absolutely continue working with RH & Sons, whose support has been invaluable to our organization. This new partnership is simply an addition to help meet the increased demands and expansion that are ahead for Marc’s Friends.

Marc’s Friends Inc. is in need of some hands-on help as we prepare for the summer months.

We are working hard to get our building cleaned, decluttered, organized, and ready for the children and families we serve. We also need help going through and organizing our storage unit.

If you can dedicate at least a 2-hour block of time this week, it would truly mean a lot to us.

Volunteer Times Available:

• Monday … 12 PM to 3 PM
• Tuesday … 12 PM to 3 PM
• Wednesday … 12 PM to 3 PM

We are looking for people who are ready to really jump in and help hands-on.

** Please note … although we are a youth center, during these volunteer hours we ask that you please come without children. There will be cleaning supplies, storage items, and things spread throughout the building, and there will not be activities available for kids during this time. We appreciate your understanding and support.

Marc's Friends is organizing a summer program and will open registration to the public for any spots not claimed by returning students. The program will offer a limited number of daily slots, as well as designated drop-in days for other children. We are currently working on permits, programming , staffing, and all the fine details that ensures successful summer programming.
