Simply the best.
View from the lake house on Champlain. I’ll try to find a quiet cove to fish but not hopeful.

Probably my last time out for stripers. Everything considered I had a good season. 262 fish pretty much alone. Learned a lot and got to enjoy the beauty of the Hudson River. Today’s swan song. Tough to photograph fish when you’re solo so scenery must suffice.

So three years ago Kiewit hired me to take two engineers out on the Hudson to find a suitable spot to deliver and store these pipes somewhere in the Newburgh area. We spent two days surveying and sounding different ares of the Hudson.
The pipes were to arrive by tug and barge and needed to be offloaded and stored for a long period of time then later transported by land to a site north of Newburgh.
This is the spot they later decided upon.
I feel somewhat connected to this project albeit in a very minute way.
An incredible and fascinating project to say the least.
Delaware Aqueduct project, connecting Wappinger, Newburgh under Hudson, installs pipe The pipes will reinforce 9,200 feet of the tunnel’s 13,200 feet to ensure the problematic limestone formations below the river bed don’t erode it.
