When our neighbors are met with dignity, it reminds them of their own value. And when we find value within ourselves, we won’t devalue someone else.

Grateful for the people who care about their neighbors in real life, who are really out in their communities and neighborhoods. On the last day of Black History Month, the Groove Phi Groove, Smooth Phi Smooth, and Newburgh Zion Lions program hosted their 4th BHM youth basketball tournament. This was the first time they hosted a girls' game and it was a major success. Proud of everyone involved. Imagine having a facility where we could focus on intergenerational growth and development every day. Keep taking up space.

Support local. Always. Black History is World History. You may not be posting the black box anymore (2020), but your feed still reflects what you choose to consume, promote, and protect. Attention is currency. Where you spend it matters. The imperialistic playbook was written on the backs of Black Americans bree through chattel slavery. Colonizers, settlers, and the architects of this nation normalized lookin away from the oppression of Black and Brown people. That silence became policy. That indifference became power. Don’t inherit that posture. Don’t scroll past injustice. Don’t be a part of a society that does nothing. Choose awareness. Choose accountability. Choose action. ⛓️💥
