Trooper and Sgt
New York State Police
April 27, 2026 - Sandy Creek, New York
Troopers were called around 7:30am to a home on SR-3 in Oswego County for a reported domestic dispute. When attempting to take the suspect into custody he armed himself with a machete and attacked the Troopers, causing significant injuries.
Both were taken to Upstate University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. One suffered a laceration to the right index finger that severed a tendon and is expected to likely require surgery. Another suffered a laceration to the wrist, a laceration to the quadricep, and two broken ribs. Both are expected to recover.
We hope these quilts provide some comfort while they recover.

Deputy
Anderson County Sheriff’s Office
April 20, 2026 - Townville, South Carolina
A Deputy initiated a traffic stop on I-85 NB near MM 11 for a traffic violation. The Deputy requested back-up. When a second Deputy arrived, the suspect remained in the patrol vehicle. During the encounter, the suspect got out of the Deputy’s vehicle and there was a physical altercation. The Deputies attempted to tase him.
The suspect retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and shot one of the them. The Deputy was airlifted to the hospital and remains there for treatment at this time.
We hope this quilt provides some comfort while he recovers.

Sgt
Springfield Police Department
April 20, 2026 - Springfield, South Carolina
An incident began when a suspect managed to slip his handcuffs while being questioned, stole a Marion police SUV, and led multiple agencies on a 30-minute chase down I-40. The pursuit ended after Arkansas State Trooper vehicles stopped the SUV using a tactical vehicle intervention, but in the chaos of the scene, a Sgt was hit.
A responding West Memphis police car struck him while he was tending to his patrol SUV. He survived after eight surgeries to save his legs and was released from the hospital in late April.
I hope this quilt will provide some comfort while he continues to recover.

Sgt
Marion Police Department
April 6, 2026 - Marion, Arkansas
Around 1:30pm Officers heard the call about a suspect who had jumped into a West Memphis Police car and tried to get away. They headed EB on I-40, and State Troopers joined them.
They used a PIT maneuver to get the suspect to stop.
The Marion PD Sgt was getting his K9 partner out of his car to check the vehicle the suspect was in. While shutting the driver’s door to go back to the back door and open it and grab his K9 partner a West Memphis Police car driven by another Officer was coming down the road, right at him. The Officers brakes were fading and they got spongy, and he was unable to stop. The Sgt was hit by the mirror on the Officer’s car and was bounced back and forth.
The Sgt recalls his leg went up in the air, catching the pointed edge of the car door.
He was taken by ambulance to Regional One, where he stayed for 20 days, as doctors worked to save his left leg by taking part of the skin from his right leg and moving it to the injured left leg. After eight surgeries and losing eight pints of blood, he was released.
He will have at least one more surgery and it will probably be a year before he fully recovers.

Officer
Oak Creek Police Department
April 18, 2026 - Oak Creek, Wisconsin
An Officer responded to a local business for a report of an intoxicated customer causing problems. While attempting to separate a suspect from a woman standing near a vehicle in the parking lot he repeatedly orders both individuals to remain at the front of the vehicle as he works to gain control of the situation.
Body camera video captured the Officer telling the suspect multiple times to stop and informing him that he is not free to leave. Surveillance footage then shows the suspect getting into the vehicle and reversing suddenly. The vehicle strikes the woman before pinning the Officer between the open vehicle door and his squad car. The impact forces the Officer onto the hood of the squad as the vehicle continues backing away.
The Officer suffered injuries to his leg and foot.
We sent this quilt for comfort during his recovery.

Officer & Sgt
Lewisboro Police Department
April 16, 2026 - South Salem, New York
Around 1pm the South Salem Fire Department was dispatched to 27 Old Shop Rd for a reported structure fire with occupants trapped in the residence. Upon arrival, Westchester County PD, Lewisboro PD and SSFD members attempted initial emergency searches within the front entrance and basement of the residence in an attempt to extricate trapped residents just before the inside experienced combined flashover and smoke explosion.
At this point, two Lewisboro Police Officers and one SSFD Captain were directly in front of the building when this event occurred, resulting in varying burn injuries.
We have sent these quilts to the Officer and Sgt to let them know we care.
