Our pretty girls are starting to look a little ragged. They’re not sick, it’s just molting season, where they shed those tired old feathers for some fresh ones before it get cold. Check out the white pin feathers here on Winnie starting to come through on her neck!

Today we feature not a chicken but the unsung hero of the group. Often called “flock guardians” we like to call Kona our “chicken tender”. While she may not like to do it for more than 10 minutes at a time before she retreats to the comfort of the couch, she fearlessly tends to her flock.
