🚨 Emaciated Frenchie in Urgent Foster Need!

😢 Bella was surrendered at barely 16lbs and covered in urine and f***s. Our hearts went out to this poor girl who very clearly had not been well cared for. Despite her emaciated frame of skin and bones 4 year old Bella has a wonderful temperament- she was docile during her bath and enjoys gentle pets from staff. Bella will need to undergo a refeeding schedule of several smaller meals a day in order to ensure she puts her weight on at a safe pace.

We do not know how she would do with other pets nor kids, nor can she be tested due to her fragile state. 🙏 If you can foster Bella and provide care as we get her back to a healthy condition please fill out the form linked!

Some dogs arrive with a story, but Xena arrived with unanswered questions. 💔

😭 Brought to Associated Humane Societies South by police as a stray, we don't know where Xena came from, how long she was on her own, or who was supposed to be looking out for her. What we do know is that she arrived severely emaciated, dehydrated, weak, and suffering from painful pressure sores and untreated ear infections. 😔

She had clearly gone far too long without the care every dog deserves. ❤️‍🩹

Kewpie has already been through more than any cat should. 💔

This sweet boy was abandoned right outside AHS Newark’s front door by the very person who once cared for him. Despite that heartbreak, Kewpie remains incredibly loving, trusting, and ready to give his heart to a family again.

Kewpie loves being picked up and held, follows his people from room to room, and greets them with soft little meows. He enjoys chasing wand toys, birdwatching from a sunny perch, and showing off his zoomies in the morning and evening. Kewpie would love a home with other animal companions to play with and a family to call his own.
