What does a Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) do?

A Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) is an advanced-level radiologic technologist who works under the supervision of a radiologist to enhance patient care in medical imaging. RRAs perform patient assessments, conduct selected imaging procedures, and assist with evaluating images—all while improving workflow and supporting the radiologist in providing timely, high-quality diagnostic care.

At Rutgers University, our RA Program prepares you with the advanced clinical, academic, and procedural skills needed to excel in this high-demand, high-impact role.
