Choosing summer child care is about more than just finding an open spot ☀️ It’s about finding a program where your child feels safe, supported, engaged, and cared for throughout the summer.

From understanding safety procedures and daily schedules to asking about hidden costs and extended care options, the right questions can help families make informed decisions before registration deadlines arrive.

Need help exploring child care or summer program options in Essex County? Programs for Parents is here to help!

Child care costs shouldn’t stop families from working, going to school, or accessing opportunities for their children 💛

The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) may help eligible families cover the cost of child care, before & after school care, and even summer programs for school-age children. Whether you’re returning to work, balancing school schedules, or planning ahead for summer, support may be available.

Want to learn more or see if you may qualify? Visit childcarenj.gov or contact Programs for Parents for assistance navigating the process.
