City-run shelter could address homeless hotspots in Newark The city's homeless services coordinator wants Newark to open its own shelter and supplement services already provided by 34 partners.

Project Live 2013 Walking club kicked off on Thursday June 6! Get moving and track all your steps with your pedometer!

PLI “Walking Club” begins again to promote Health and Wellness through exercise. The club will run just like the walk-a-thon we held last year. Pedometers will count steps and track them weekly. There will be a prize awarded through a drawing at the end of a 16 week period. As long as you are walking and reporting your numbers you have a chance to win a GREAT PRIZE!! We will also offer special events during the 16 weeks. Spread the word and get your walking shoes ready. We need a count of the people who will be joining and if they will need a pedometer. Keep an eye out for start date and announcements.
