Let's talk about a true pioneer who broke through the ceiling in global finance: Reginald F. Lewis! 🔥
In 1987, he made history by becoming the first Black person to build a billion-dollar company! His firm, TLC Group, acquired Beatrice International Foods for a massive $985 million—one of the largest leveraged buyouts ever by an African American.
This groundbreaking deal transformed TLC Beatrice into the largest Black-owned business in the U.S. at the time, operating in 31 countries and generating over $1.8 billion in annual revenue.
Reginald F. Lewis's success didn't just shatter barriers; it fundamentally redefined what was possible for Black entrepreneurs on the world stage. He showed us how to play, and win, at the highest levels.

From Uniontown to Hollywood: The Incredible Journey of Tony Cox!
Let's celebrate the amazing Tony Cox! 🔥 This legendary actor, born in 1958, is pictured here at 4 years old with his grandfather in Uniontown, Alabama, and then at his high school graduation in 1976.
Tony spent his childhood in Uniontown with his grandparents, becoming an avid drummer by age 10. Despite constant childhood operations to stretch his legs, his cousin Bettie Jimerson remembers how he always wanted to be included, playing basketball and touch football—never wanting to be treated differently.
After high school, he started at Alabama State University for music, but later decided to pursue acting, inspired by fellow little person actor Billy Barty. At just 18, he moved to Los Angeles, determined to find his purpose.
Standing at 3'6", Tony faced immense challenges. Early roles often reduced him to a "Circus Dwarf" or hidden characters like an Ewok in Return of the Jedi. He prayed for a role that truly showcased his talent, one that wasn't demeaning.
That prayer was answered in 2002 when he landed the part of Marcus, the sharp-witted, heist-mastermind elf in "Bad Santa." He said, "In 23 years working as an actor at that time, I had never seen a role like that. Those are roles you dream of.” "Bad Santa" became a massive hit, and after over two decades, Tony Cox became an "overnight success"!
His career is filled with iconic roles you know and love:
Films: Bad Santa (Marcus!), Friday (Mr. Parker), Me, Myself & Irene, Return of the Jedi (Ewok), Beetlejuice, Willow, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, Leprechaun 2, Date Movie, Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, The Warrior's Way, Oz the Great and Powerful, Bad Santa 2.
Television: Martin, Family Matters, Chico and the Man, MASH*, Criminal Minds, Psych.
Music Videos: Appearing in classics like 2Pac's "California Love" and Eminem's "Just Lose It"!
Tony Cox's journey is a powerful testament to perseverance, self-belief, and finding purpose against all odds. He never let physical challenges define him and created a phenomenal legacy in Hollywood.
