Groh
Educational experts Anne and Jodi started grOH! with a mission, to make play EASIER for families!
They found the best way to make play easier was to take the work off of families' plates and put the work onto the environments. DC designers building play-forward spaces to help your child learn & grow 🧠 💪

Creating a playroom for kids with an age gap isn’t always easy, but this space was designed to grow right alongside them ✨
When this family came to us, they wanted more than a room full of toys. They wanted a space that could support siblings at different ages, encourage independent play, and become a favorite gathering spot for the whole family.
Every design element was chosen with intention. The climbing wall, swings, slide, and foam pit create opportunities for movement and confidence-building. Open-ended play features like the fort and art space encourage imagination, problem-solving, and creativity. And with multiple ways to engage with the space, each child can find play that meets them where they are.
The result? A playroom that supports growing kiddos and years of family memories.

Deciding to invest in a playroom isn’t always an easy choice. A custom space like this is a commitment, but it’s one that keeps giving back for years to come ✨
The results are what make it worth it. Days of imaginative play. Vibrant memories. Quality family time that doesn’t feel forced, but feels natural and wanted. A space where kids feel safe to explore, create, learn, and grow every single day 🌈
That’s what a playroom is all about.
Contrary to popular belief: We don’t design playrooms for a single developmental stage, we design for longevity.
Most people assume indoor play equipment is outgrown in a year. But when a playroom layout is designed intentionally, it serves as a dynamic environment for gross motor milestones. For example, our climbing wall holds can be easily reconfigured into new, advanced patterns as your kids grow—allowing you to constantly adjust the physical difficulty and challenge their coordination as their skills develop.
Development doesn’t have an expiration date, and neither should your playroom ✨

Life is too short for boring beige playrooms 🧡🌈✨
For anyone who thinks your kid’s playspace has to be a chaotic explosion of mismatched plastic, we’re here to shatter that belief. We design beautiful, bespoke playrooms that flow seamlessly with the aesthetic standard of the rest of your home.
But past the stunning visuals, every single design detail serves a clear purpose. We create inviting environments for your children to strengthen their gross motor skills, regulate their emotions, and build confidence right inside the house. You don’t have to compromise on style to give your kids the active and sensory foundation they need to thrive.

Low ceilings? No problem 🏠✨
Standard 8’ ceilings are ideal for climbing safety. Paired with a premium safety mat, kids can monkey bar across the room without the fear of falling too far, giving them the ultimate outlet to exhaust their energy safely indoors.
Plus, they are the perfect canvas for custom murals—no scaffolding needed!
Think your space is too small or awkward for a custom build? We love a challenge 😎

Consider this your permission to skip the beige 😉
A playroom should feel like a destination. When we sit down with families, we look at the house as a whole to ensure our custom color palettes feel like a natural, elevated extension of your style. Whether your vibe is eclectic, clean and modern, whimsical, or earthy—we design for the whole family to love.
Comment what color or COLORS you’d paint your playroom!
You know when they start climbing the kitchen counters for the millionth time after you've asked them to stop?
Or when a tiny frustration triggers a full-blown after-school meltdown? 🫣
The thing is... kids don't want to act out. But when they don’t have a dedicated destination to get their wiggles out or take a quiet sensory break, that built-up overstimulation has to go somewhere. Usually, it lands right on your living room furniture 😅
What surprises many of our clients is how much their environment actually impacts their kiddos’ ability to regulate emotions (and make better decisions!) every single day 🧡

Yes, it’s actually possible 🤯
The secret isn’t just buying more toys, it’s about creating a destination that naturally holds their attention. We design beautiful and functional spaces that give kids the movement and freedom they crave, while keeping the chaos entirely in its place.
Everyone wins, AND you get to finish that cup of coffee while it’s still warm. What a beautiful thing 🧡
