Groh
Educational experts Anne and Jodi started grOH! with a mission, to make play EASIER for families!
They found the best way to make play easier was to take the work off of families' plates and put the work onto the environments. DC designers building play-forward spaces to help your child learn & grow 🧠 💪

Low ceilings? No problem 🏠✨
Standard 8’ ceilings are ideal for climbing safety. Paired with a premium safety mat, kids can monkey bar across the room without the fear of falling too far, giving them the ultimate outlet to exhaust their energy safely indoors.
Plus, they are the perfect canvas for custom murals—no scaffolding needed!
Think your space is too small or awkward for a custom build? We love a challenge 😎
Save this to your dream home board! 📌
Consider this your permission to skip the beige 😉
A playroom should feel like a destination. When we sit down with families, we look at the house as a whole to ensure our custom color palettes feel like a natural, elevated extension of your style. Whether your vibe is eclectic, clean and modern, whimsical, or earthy—we design for the whole family to love.
Comment what color or COLORS you’d paint your playroom!
You know when they start climbing the kitchen counters for the millionth time after you've asked them to stop?
Or when a tiny frustration triggers a full-blown after-school meltdown? 🫣
The thing is... kids don't want to act out. But when they don’t have a dedicated destination to get their wiggles out or take a quiet sensory break, that built-up overstimulation has to go somewhere. Usually, it lands right on your living room furniture 😅
What surprises many of our clients is how much their environment actually impacts their kiddos’ ability to regulate emotions (and make better decisions!) every single day 🧡

Yes, it’s actually possible 🤯
The secret isn’t just buying more toys, it’s about creating a destination that naturally holds their attention. We design beautiful and functional spaces that give kids the movement and freedom they crave, while keeping the chaos entirely in its place.
Everyone wins, AND you get to finish that cup of coffee while it’s still warm. What a beautiful thing 🧡

It’s the small, intentional design decisions that turn an empty room into the ultimate childhood destination ✨
We paired a New York City custom mural with a gross motor active play climbing wall, multi-functional fort, a cozy loft net, and hidden toy storage so the space stays organized while keeping kids engaged.
Feeling inspired to recreate this look? Comment “NYC” and we’ll send you the playroom product details and paint colors! 🧡🏙️
Say “hi” to the Little Apple! 🏙️ ✨ This bespoke playroom was designed to bring the vibrant energy of New York City and the tranquility of Central Park right into this family’s new home.
We loved touring you through this space! Here’s a quick recap of the different zones we built to maximize every single square foot:
🧗 Active Corner: Equipped with a climbing wall, climbing rope, and foam pit—it’s proof that you don’t need a massive footprint to create a meaningful active play circuit.
🌟 Fort: Multi-functional with 2 levels for imaginative play and a ladder that leads to the most epic loft net ever!
🎨 Makerspace: A dedicated, clutter-free station always open for creativity and creation.
🌉 Nooklyn Bridge: The ultimate cozy spot to curl up with a book or to get some quiet time.
Which zone do you think your kids would run to first?
I used to dread the 3-7 on the week days
now I can’t wait for the kids to come home and hate when the weekend ends 😭
if you had this playroom, how would your 3-7 change?
The secret to better play (and an easier cleanup)? Less stuff ✨
When a playroom is overflowing, it’s overstimulating for kids and makes it incredibly difficult for them to focus and dive deep into their imagination. For parents, it just feels like endless tidying.
We love implementing intentional organizational systems that minimize the toy count. It’s the simplest way to encourage independent play and give parents their time back.
