The fifth edition of Independent 20th Century takes place this September 24-27 the first time at at the Breuer.
Inside the Brutalist landmark, the 2026 edition features 56 nominated exhibitors and presentations of works by more than 130 artists, continuing Independent 20th Century’s mission to reframe the canon of 20th-century art by bringing together artists from diverse geographies, generations, movements, and styles.

Independent’s 2026 Post-Fair Market Report is now available—a data-driven look at the artists, galleries, and market trends behind the fair.
This year’s edition saw an increase in attendance and historic rise in new clients, with more than 10,000 visitors to Pier 36 and 60% of artworks sold to new clients (up from 48% in 2025).

Following a solo debut presentation with at Independent 2026, artist is featured in a recent review by Holland Cotter in the New York Times for his inclusion in “Fade” on view now at the in Harlem.
