Things we’re good at: 1) soaking up the sun, 2) designing for peak performance, and 3) being a test model for our clients.
Our founder, Wayne Turett, loves to use his own Passive House in Greenport as a testing lab and explore how sustainable architecture can perform. For his latest ‘experiment,’ he’s upgrading the ‘grid’ and pushing his home towards net-zero by integrating sleek Sunflare solar panels out front and panels for the back.

Your walls are talking. What are they saying?
The colors you choose for your home do so much more than just look pretty. They can completely dictate the mood and feel of a room. We’re breaking down how different hues can influence the energy of a space—featuring insights from our Interior Design Director, Jessica Shaw.

Sometimes, hitting rock bottom is exactly what the blueprint ordered.
When our clients for this Upper West Side Townhouse sought to expand their existing cellar space, there was only one small obstacle standing in the way: several feet of solid NYC bedrock – but we weren’t going to let that stop us.
Over the course of a few months, the amazing team at Think Construction chipped away at the rock to excavate the ultimate entertainment lounge (with a golf simulator and media room)—snapping a couple of cool photos along the way.
Swipe to dig through the excavation process.

While the beautiful exterior of this home was definitely turning heads, its outdated layout and less-than-stellar performance required some modernization—a complex puzzle TTC was more than happy to solve.
We’ve made incredible progress on our Shelter Island Project, transforming a quaint cottage into a modern home inspired by Wayne’s own Passive House. Building off the existing structure, we reimagined and modernized the space with thoughtful details like a highly-insulated exterior envelope, efficient mechanical systems, and floor-to-ceiling windows to add light and lock in the coastal views. Swipe to see the transformation in progress.

Designer's Eye | Toronto through Jessica Shaw's lens
Hailing from Canada, our Director of Interior Design Jessica Shaw recently returned home to the 6ix for a little inspo.
From the striking visual language of the Art Gallery of Ontario and the bold, abstract works of Henry Moore, to the iconic floating, table-top facade of the OCAD University, the trip offered Jess plenty of creative inspiration to bring back to upcoming projects.

Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, but for us, it's the payoff for months of analyzing sightlines and solar gain to find the perfect spot for a 5PM cocktail.
Whether it's a landmarks-approval UWS rooftop or a Passive House retreat in Greenport, we obsess over the details so you can enjoy the view.

Design is a powerful tool for well-being, extending far beyond aesthetics to shape how we feel in a space. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re reflecting on how our surroundings support both physical and mental health. As our own Jessica Shaw puts it: “The best design is rooted in wellness. That’s not a passing trend, it’s a fundamental shift. Designers and clients alike are embracing wellness as a guiding principle, thinking about the cognitive and sensory impact of their environments.”
Whether it’s through biophilic elements that reconnect us to nature, lighting systems attuned to our natural rhythms, or intentional spatial arrangements that reduce visual noise, every design choice is an opportunity to foster clarity and calm.

Our renovation of this Park Slope townhouse and carriage house is nearing completion. Through rigorous historic restoration and incorporating Passive House principles, we’ve transformed this unique property into a serene sanctuary.
There’s so much to love about this project (and we certainly do), from amenities like the indoor pool and sauna to the intricate wood paneling that creates a beautiful sense of rhythm throughout the home. Every detail, every finish, was chosen to keep the space both efficient and exceptionally comfortable.
Take a peek at the details that make this project so special.

Turn-of-the-century charm meets state-of-the-art renovation.
We’ve come a long way on our Upper West Side Townhouse project, where we’ve been working meticulously to balance the iconic brownstone’s historic character with exciting modern flourishes.
To better accommodate the homeowner’s needs, we implemented a variety of finishes to cultivate a space that breathes luxury and prioritizes wellness by incorporating sustainability principles throughout. Features like triple-glazed windows and a highly advanced lighting system attuned to circadian rhythms bring a new level of comfort and well-being to the home. Swipe to see some before and after magic.

With a housing crisis looming across the U.S., we turn to design for creative solutions. ADUs––accessory dwelling units––are small, independent homes on the same lot as a primary residence, maximizing space while providing thoughtfully designed housing.
While Mayor Zohran Mamdani is encouraging ADU construction in NYC to help meet demand, smaller communities like Greenport are similarly moving to legalize them to support greater housing density. ADUs to increase local density. Here's a look at a quasi-ADU we designed ourselves—offering a glimpse of what intentional design can achieve within a minimal footprint. We’re excited to see how ADUs continue to evolve as a response to today’s housing needs.
