In its emphasis on Jewish-Arab equal partnership and belonging, the message of A Place for Us All (מקום לכולנו لكلنا مكان) offers Israel a vital new direction. We hope the party will succeed in playing a constructive role in task #1 - bringing down Netanyahu and his extremist government.

Over the years, we've consistently spoken out in favor of diplomacy with Iran, not military action against it. And we've consistently warned that Netanyahu's policies are putting Israel at grave risk of becoming a pariah state.

We were unhesitating in our support for the 2015 JCPOA deal with Iran (which Trump tore up less than 3 years later), which made "Israel, the region, and the whole world safer", even if "no agreement with an adversary can provide absolute guarantees".

When Israel attacked Iran in June 2025, our reaction was to "urge all parties to recommit to a diplomatic path forward" and warned that "Netanyahu has set Israel on a highly dangerous course".

And when the US and Israel launched the latest war, we said it "must be swiftly brought to an end", and be followed by "robust negotiations". And we also warned that US and Israeli talk of regime change in Iran was "far from a benevolent effort to ensure the fundamental democracy that the Iranian people so richly deserve." https://www.progressiveisrael.org/partners-for-progressive-israel-responds-to-us-israel-iran-war/

Our friend and ally, אבי דבוש Avi Dabush, posted this comment on the damage done to Israel when Netanyahu's government sends a far-right delegation to lead - and be honored at - the annual Israel Day Parade in NYC, which took place yesterday. We're delighted to be hosting Avi, via Zoom, at this Sunday's virtual Israel Symposium. Details in first comment.
Below is a partial (unofficial) translation of Avi's words.
"This is the face of Israel.
"We’re making a huge effort to connect Jewish young people to Israel. To explain that one can love and believe in Israel, and criticize and fight for its complexion. Against ugly occupation and Jewish terror, violence. and an extremist Orthodox monopoly, and for democracy, justice, and peace. That Israel, Judaism, and Zionism ≠ Ben Gvir and Smotrich.
"[But] When you see who’s leading the Israel Parade in New York, you totally understand why our mission is so difficult…
"But, I’m optimistic. We’ll replace [the government] and fix things. Soon ❤️🇮🇱 "
