Kanye West is officially a billionaire, according to Forbes.
The magazine says the rapper and fashion designer, who has long coveted the status, gave it a glimpse into his personal finances, which led it to value his net worth at $1.3bn (£1.04bn).
That includes his stake in the Yeezy trainer line, which Forbes describes as “one of the great retail stories of the century”, worth $1.26bn (£1.0bn). Added to that, Forbes said the statement of assets supplied to them by West’s team lists $17m in cash (£13.6m) and $35m in stocks (£28m). After reading all the above I now understand a lot more about this world works when Kanye was woke and fighting against the system he went broke the powers that be made sure he knew his place and humble him.Now he has changed his message and speaks to make the masters comfortable he has been rewarded. 🇺🇸 🇯🇲 🇹🇹 🇭🇹 🇧🇧 🇬🇩 🇬🇾

As I write this everyone is dealing with the reality of being locked in their homes under quarantine, here at musically unplugged or mission is to explore music in every aspect and today we focus on a activity that normally requires no social distancing the reality is it requires hundreds of people crammed in a club, hall or arena to here and judge which sound is the baddest. Now a little in sight on clash culture, clash culture is base on a sound system playing the best dub or dubplate in order to embarrass aka kill his opponent a combination of word play delivery and sometimes comical antics are use to captivate the audience .Considering the times and what’s happening clash have to and are still taking place we are seeing a lot of clashes on many different social media platforms but while these clashes are happening it brought a question to mind , who really benefits from sound clashes, is it the sound system and its owner or is it the Artist voicing the dub . With everything considered the answer is clear ,in sound clash the Artist wins and they win big . Let’s look at Dubs a dub could cost a sound system a minimum of a $150 US and this is on the low end we have heard of Dub prices as high as $1500 now to consider this dub is not something exclusive to any sound , so long as you’re willing to pay you can get any dub to play . After the artist is payed to voice the tune as it is called in the dance arena , the artist gains free advertising which creates a demand for the tune to be voiced for other sound systems so it creates a demand for the artist no so much the sound at the end of a clash the sound system gets a trophy 🏆 if there is any cash prize it does not even come close to the amount the sound system spent for dubs ,yes dubs with an S . There is no sound that will ever enter a clash without having a minimum of 50 dubs now you do the math . Dj’s who are into sound clash say it’s not about the money for them when they win its about the bragging rights ,while this may be the case for the sound system for the artists and producers this is big business ask the son of legendary clash Dj pink panther, his son

Yesterday was 4-20 and on this day the great release a new song called G***a man .this track along with his past 2 releases trust and steppa have received luke warm reviews after speaking to one of musically unplugged Dj who offered some insight saying“there are 3 B’s that will forever run dancehall and reggae and they are legends of music , and Father Hammond ,he believes that music has changed and Bujus music is not intune with this generation, he even went on to say that Buju music will catch the ear of people 35 and over but due to his absence from dancehall for the past 10 years there has been a disconnect with Buju’s subject matter and this generation who are only into catchy hooks and nice beats . People are still awaiting music from Gagamel to deliver something that can make you move your body, something that you can free up too . While we sit back and await that one song that will get you out of your seat it is now and will be forever understood that Mark Anthony Myrie aka Buju Banton is giant and his millions of fans will wait and not rush his greatness . 🇯🇲 🇹🇹 🇧🇧 🇭🇹 🇬🇩 🇬🇾 #420

As today wraps up the end of we hope everyone have been safe, and had a great time! For this who don’t know, St Lucia’s Carnival is a vibrant, energetic celebration of costumes, music and culture that evolved from this Caribbean island’s mixture of Catholic and African heritage. It used to be held to mark the start of Lent but, as in St Vincent, was moved later in the year to avoid clashes with Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago, and better cater to tourists.
Events take place over the course of a month, culminating in a two-day costumed parade of bands and a Road March competition which take place on the third Monday and Tuesday in July. This year that falls on July 16-17, and preceding days will see soca, calypso and steel band competitions, as well as a Junior Carnival and a beauty pageant.
