Getting things done takes planning, organization, and time management — all executive function skills. When those skills are stretched, neurodivergent kids and parents can get stuck in the avoidance → guilt → shame loop.

When kids struggle with reading, it’s not always obvious why.
If your child avoids books, guesses words, mixes up sounds, or seems to “pretend read,” it could be a sign they need more reading support, not that they’re not trying.
