Crack The Sky mainman John Palumbo has released a new solo album, R U SCIENCE?, through Iconoclassic Records. The album pulls no punches about its politically charged subject matter, with new single, Icemen, a scathing look at the current activities of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The new album features guest appearances from Crack The Sky’s Joe Macre (bass) and Bobby Hird (lead guitar and background vocals).

At the same time, Palumbo has published his very first novel, Swimming The Cleveland Ocean, described as "dark, psychological and often unsettling". The book is now available at Amazon and other retailers.

John Ford of the Strawbs will release a brand new solo album, Between A Rock And A Hard Place, through Iconoclassic Records on July 24. The album features nine new Ford original songs as well as covers of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Walls and George Harrison 's Rising Sun.

“As a songwriter the subconscious can bring forth ideas that you may not even be thinking of day to day, but looking back on stages in my life, songs like The Last Goodnight and Lilacs and Hollyhocks certainly reflect that,” says Ford, who was also in Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera and Hudson Ford. “I think everyone at some point in their lives have been between a rock and a hard place.”

The CD format includes an exclusive bonus disc of 21 career highlights, and Fiord has dedicated the album to his late Strawbs bandmate, Dave Cousins.

"I was working with him and Blue Weaver right up to the time he was hospitalized. Dave and I had co-written songs on the last two Strawbs albums and I did send him Lilacs and Hollyhocks for verses but had to finish the lyrics myself. We had our ups and downs over the years, but we fortunately ended on a good note.”
