What we go through to achieve flat paneled doors and drawer fronts. Painfully, edge all of them with 1/4” solids. Then sand/cut even. For this large kitchen in progress, the finishing process includes wire brushing to open the grain and then three glazing steps for a light white oak appearance. As this one progresses, site picture to come. Really proud of the finished product so far. . .

I use to think it was easy what we do. That’s funny!! We totally opened up the front of this stone house for amazing windows. Ok, then the challenge. How do we make it seem natural….put back the old brick??? But wait it was crushed when we chipped away the stubborn solid stone and cement. Roberto suggested putting g back the old stone with a few bricks. Genius!!! Now we match the mirror joints with our magic formula and it will look like we never touched. Let me know what you think….

Installed this today at our freinds at Anna &Jack’s Treehouse. What a great idea for a coffee cart. All hard maple bodies with a butcher block top. Let the kids try and destroy that. We wish these guys the best of luck with the new place!!! &jacktreehouse

So, the holidays are over and started sifting through all the old things. Found this carving my dad made twenty five years ago. It was the beginning of a series. He vowed to recreate the headboard my grandfather “nonno” made for himself and “nonna” in Italy in the fourties. Here’s what I’m thinking, i know dad made the other carvings. I’m going to dig them up and finally put together the bed. It would def make my father feel great, and now me too. To be continued….. .

This remodel’s new kitchen is looking great. Waiting for counters to arrive. Wait until you see! I love the openness of the room. Not easy to keep the simple open look, especially in an older home. What do you 🤔? Check out the closeup of the floor. A beautiful European rustic white oak. 🙂🌿. More details soo.

So, house is 150 years old. We’re at the stage of finishing for the addition’s exterior. Challenge is bringing in today’s finishing touches but careful to keep the classic look of the original. We’ll get there. We’re really good at it. This black standing seam roof is a perfect example, of using today’s material but the shape is classic. Notice the walkway, we’re creating straight lines, keeping it contemporary feel. Can’t wait to attack the columns and trim work here. Let us know what you think.

Most old houses don’t like to be messed with. This one is no exception. Fighting us a bit, but we keep pushing. Open concept kitchen family room first pic. Needed some steel and plenty of lvl’s as you can see. We have quite a few more to add. Love my cordless circular saw!! All this with basically that and a hammer. Still can’t wait for the art studio. What do you 🤔 ? 👍👎.
