Sound Hope Community Church
Sound Hope is a community called to worship God, disciple believers into maturity in Christ, and spread hope throughout the world in the power of the Spirit.
Three steps to prioritizing true sabbath rest. Number 1) Get out your calendars, number 2) Schedule in, “no plans” even for a couple of hours in your week, and lastly, Number 3) Commit to no tech and taking things slow, like going for a walk, drinking some morning chai or coffee, and spending time to reflect on your week and thank God for his goodness in your life.
Thank you for bringing the word, pastor Prijo!

Dear Sound Hope Church family,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the unexpected passing of our beloved brother, Marc Newberger, who went to be with the Lord last Sunday morning. He was greatly loved by our church family and we will miss him very much. Let us be praying for his daughter Lily, and all his dear friends.
We invite you to join us this Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 12:00 PM immediately following our Sunday morning worship service as we come together to honor Marc’s life and surround his family and friends with love and the hope we have in Christ. Following the service, the burial will be at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla. Arrangements are being handled by Flower Funeral Home in Yonkers.
Please hold Marc’s family and one another in prayer during this difficult time. Let us pray for God’s peace and comfort to surround us, and for the hope of Christ to shine brightly in each heart
With love and hope,
Pastor Stanley John

Dr. Stanley invited us to fast from media consumption as a church. Here are 5 simple steps we can implement to reset our hearts and realign our focus on God. You’ve got this! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Sunday’s sermon was on the consumption of media in our daily lives. How much do we consume? Do we even know? Spending time with media and news outlets day in and day out begins to take a toll on our very souls. It begins to form and shape us into its disciples. Dr. Stanley gives us ways to hit reset with this sermon series. May we remember what is good, pure, beautiful, and praise worthy in our lives. From Philippians chapter 4. Catch it on YouTube or wherever you listen to podcasts.
August is here and with it a new sermon series. It’s called Reset: Realigning What Shapes Our Hearts.
A great message that helps us unpack our desire to consume and invites us to review our shopping carts.

What has your heart lately?
Your calendar?
Your phone?
Your finances?
Your relationships?
In August, we’re taking a closer look at what shapes our hearts—and how Jesus invites us to realign them with Him. Join us for RESET.
Generosity isn’t meant to come from obligation, but from a heart that remembers what God has already done. What areas is God inviting you to surrender and expand in your generosity?”
