We Rock the Spectrum - Trinity

☕️ Happy International Coffee Day! ☕️

Because apparently opening a sensory gym requires approximately 47 cups of coffee, a whole lot of faith, and approximately 47 more cups of coffee. 😂

These days, Dalton and I are fueled by faith & caffeine as we keep working behind the scenes to get WRTS of Trinity open! 💙🌈

Until then… coffee first, construction second. ☕️😂

👀✨ WHY WE DO IT WEDNESDAYS ✨👀

Have you ever noticed a child who loves watching things spin, stares at lights, watches objects move closely, or seeks out visually stimulating toys over and over?

That can be a form of visual seeking!!

For some kids, their bodies are looking for more visual input to help them feel organized, alert, focused, or regulated. Providing the right kind of sensory input can give their nervous system something meaningful to process and can support self-regulation. 🧠✨

At WRTS, we want to give kids lots of opportunities to explore sensory input in ways that feel fun and natural. That might look like:

🌀 Spinning toys and activities
🎢 Swinging and movement activities
✨ Glowing lights and visual effects
🫧 Bubble tubes and other visual sensory experiences
🌈 Exploring different types of sensory input at their own pace

Our calming room will also provide a space where kids can experience softer, more controlled sensory input with things like glowing lights and bubbles. 💜

💙 DID YOU KNOW? 💙

There’s a pretty special story behind the little boy on the We Rock the Spectrum logo.

We Rock the Spectrum was founded by our CEO & Founder, Dina Kimmel, after her son, Gabriel, was diagnosed with autism. Dina wanted to create a place where he could play, explore, and simply be himself without limits. 💙

What started as a home gym designed just for Gabriel eventually became the first We Rock the Spectrum gym in 2010… and grew into the WRTS community we know today! 🌎✨

And that little Rock Boy you see everywhere? He’s modeled after Gabriel! 🤘 So today, on National Sons Day, we’re celebrating the son who helped inspire a movement. 💙

Happy National Sons Day, Gabriel! 🤘🌈

🤟💙 Happy International Day of Sign Languages! 🌎✨

Communication comes in so many beautiful forms, and every child deserves to have their voice heard, understood, and valued. 💙

Today we’re celebrating the power of communication, connection, and making space for everyone to express themselves! 🌈🤟

Oops… we missed Wednesday. 😂

Between personal festivities and everything else going on, our Why We Do It Wednesday post got away from us!

But don’t worry, we’ve got some fun ones coming your way next week 👀✨

Thanks for sticking with us and following along as we build WRTS Trinity! We’re so excited for what’s coming. 🫶

✨ Wishing a sweet and meaningful Yom Kippur to all who celebrate! 💙

A day for reflection, forgiveness, fresh starts, and spending time with the people who matter most. 🍎🕎

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! 💚✨

Throughout this month, we celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, history, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. We’re grateful for the diversity that makes our communities stronger and more connected. 🌎❤️

Shana Tova! 🍎🍯

Wishing everyone celebrating Rosh Hashanah a sweet and joyful New Year filled with love, happiness, health, and meaningful moments with family and friends.

May this new year bring peace, connection, and plenty of reasons to celebrate. ❤️

Today, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who showed incredible courage on September 11, 2001.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
