Meet Teresa Rodrigues and Jonathan Viliott, our 2026 Summer Interns!

Teresa and Jonathan are both rising seniors at UMass Amherst, and are pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering. Teresa was drawn to structural engineering because of her passion for history and preserving historic buildings, while Jonathan was drawn to structural because of his hands on nature and satisfaction with seeing different parts come together. Outside of engineering, the two have a plethora of hobbies! Teresa enjoys gardening, hiking, traveling, and reading, and Jonathan enjoys lifting, rock climbing, hiking, golf, and skiing.

This will be Teresa's second summer with e2, and Jonathan's first. We are thrilled to have both of them on the e2 team this summer!

Project Highlight: Lawrence + Memorial Hospital - Nuclear Medicine Suite Renovations

This project relocated and completely renovated the hospital's Nuclear Medicine Suite, allowing for significant imaging upgrades.

The suite put the creative limits of our team to the test. Removing bearing walls and replacing them with steel columns and beams in a suite that is underground, beneath an operational Emergency Department ambulance entrance, posed to be an incredibly difficult challenge. However, after close collaboration with , , , and , we were able to successfully pull it off.

We are grateful to have been part of such an excellent, detail-oriented team and to be making an impact in healthcare design.

Last week, e2 had the opportunity to join Blakeslee Prestress Inc and for a tour of the Blakeslee Precast Prestressed Concrete Plant. We learned more about how they make precast concrete and the different uses of it, as well as the PCI certification process. Walking through the plant demonstrated the impressive scale and precision of their production.

The tour was such a great professional development opportunity for our engineers. Thank you to for inviting us to join you!
