Motorcyclists across the United States are reportedly in open revolt after Punxsutawney Phil emerged, saw his shadow, and sentenced the nation to another six weeks of winter.

The decision was met with immediate backlash from the riding community, many of whom had already emotionally committed to riding season, washed their bikes, and checked the forecast “just in case.”

In an official statement released earlier today, one frustrated rider declared:

“We refuse to accept Phil’s findings. We are emotionally, spiritually, and mechanically ready for riding season.”

At press time, sources confirm several bikers were seen staring longingly at their motorcycles, revving engines in garages, and insisting that “it’s basically spring if you think about it.”
