Thank you to everyone who joined Team Sanchez: No One Fights Alone at this year’s Race in the Park. We were honored to be recognized as the largest team participating in the event.
This recognition reflects the incredible support, compassion, and sense of community shown by everyone who came together for this cause. I’m truly grateful to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s event so meaningful.
Thank you as well to CT Breast Health Initiative for organizing another impactful event and for the important work you continue to do for individuals and families across our communities.

The Connecticut Breast Health Initiative (CT BHI) is proud to announce its acceptance into the prestigious Birdies for Charity program for the upcoming Travelers Championship. This vital partnership with the PGA TOUR event allows CT BHI to significantly advance its mission of funding critical breast cancer research and education initiatives across Connecticut.
Supporters making contributions through the Birdies for Charity platform will see their impact increased by 15%, thanks to generous matching funds provided by presenting sponsor Webster Bank and supporting sponsor Aetna. This presents a crucial opportunity for donors to maximize their community investment in local breast health advancements.

Thank you to the City of New Britain, Mayor Bobby Sanchez, and the New Britain Fire and Police Departments for closing streets, keeping runners safe, bringing Touch a Truck to the kids, and showing up as true partners on May 9th. Having Mayor Sanchez serve as our Honorary Chair and field his own team made this year even more special.
To our participants, survivors, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters: 23 years in and this RACE still delivers. Runners, walkers, kids, and virtual participants across Connecticut came together for the same reason. Families walked together, survivors found each other, and a community showed up year after year because they know it matters.
CT BHI has now awarded $4.9 million through 119 grants to Connecticut researchers advancing breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Last year, we received more grant requests than we could fund. Every dollar raised on May 9th brings us closer to changing that.
Thank you. See you next year.
