Why is it that the same word used for discernment in the sense of exercising judgment is the same word Jesus uses when He warns us not to doubt in Mark 11:23. diakrinos (διακρίνω). One word. Two directions. One leading to clarity. One leading to collapse.

Is God giving us a double meaning or a deeper warning.
Is discernment the thing that steadies us or the thing that exposes us.
What if the difference between faith and falling apart is found in how we handle this one word.

Whatever the new doctrinal controversies are in future years, those who have learned systematic theology well will be much better able to answer the new questions that arise. This is because of the Bible’s great consistency; everything that the Bible says is somehow related to everything else the Bible says. Thus, the new question will be related to much that has already been learned from Scripture. The more thoroughly that earlier material [systematic theology] has been learned, the better able we will be able to deal with those questions.

Faith Under Pressure: What We Believe.

This Wednesday, we’re diving into The Uniqueness of the Bible — a study that helps you understand why Scripture stands apart from every belief system around us and gives you confidence to point people to Christ with clarity and love.

Come learn, ask questions, and strengthen your foundation.

Because of the current government shutdown, a lot of families in our city are facing extra food insecurity. We want to help.
20|30 CHURCH is collecting canned goods Nov 5–8 (ends at 12 PM). Everything we bring in will go straight to shelters serving people across our city.

We had the chance to share a meal, pray with him, and remind him that he’s seen and loved by God. Please keep Ricardo in your prayers this week. 🙏
