The official campaign page of Ryan Covert for Mayor of New Baltimore. I’m a proud husband and father. Two term City Councilman.

For the past eight years, it has been my honor to serve our community on the New Baltimore City Council. Along the way, we've been met with challenges and presented with opportunities; each requiring leadership that knows the value of bringing people together, doing the homework, offering solutions and vision, and respecting voices in agreement and dissent. I believe I have earned that reputation

Good Morning New Baltimore! Over the course of the past six months, people across the city have been hearing from candidates for various offices about their plans for our future. Yesterday, residents finally had a chance to express their view.

I first must offer my congratulations to Tom and his team on their win. I also want to congratulate Marcia, Jeanne, Stan, Dave, and Mel on their respective wins last night. To Ralph and Jacob, be proud of all of the good you do in the community and for taking a stand. Jacob's voice will remain an important one on council in the months ahead. I wish them all well, especially those now charged with leading our town forward.

To my family, my friends, and my volunteers, thank you for standing with me through it all. Running for office brings with it a complex range of experiences and emotions, having people in your corner every step of the way is what helps get a candidate through it all. To those who voted for me, thank you for placing your trust in me. I hope you will continue to vote for the changes we deserve as a community.

While I regret to say that I came up short in this year's election, there are countless things that I do not regret. Chief among them: the decision to keep New Baltimore my home. Being raised here has given me lifelong friendships, a sense of belonging, and a place that is truly home. But returning here in 2015 after college and early career has truly given me everything.

What most people don't know is my first council race is where I reconnected with my wife. After months of mailers, ads, and knocking on doors, we started chatting first about the election. We then had our first date shortly after I won in 2017. She's been with me every step of the way from the beginning to the end of my time on council. We got married, made a home, and now have a beautiful baby together. We've built a wonderful life and I'm grateful beyond measure for that. I'm looking forward to spending more time with my family and raising my daughter in this place that I love.

I'm proud of the work I've done on council over the last eight years together with my colleagues past and present. Our town continues to change for the better and I believe that we will strive for more. Thank you, New Baltimore, for everything!

Thank you to all who cast their ballot today and over the past few weeks! I am honored to be advancing to the general election alongside Mayor Semaan this November. I congratulate him on his performance tonight and I look forward to carrying on the conversation about our city's future in the days and weeks ahead. I must also congratulate Patrick Green on his run and acknowledge his dedication to our community and commitment to creating a better government for New Baltimore. To the staff and volunteers who make our elections possible - thank you!

I know that we have work to do. To those who may not know me; or who may not have voted for me; to those who may not be familiar with my work or my ideas; I welcome and ask for your consideration. Between now and November, I'll continue to present a positive vision for our city alongside more opportunities to meet me, ask questions, and voice your concerns. More on that to come.
