The James L. Russell Wonderland Way Collection is a permanent collection of Wonderland Way artists gifted to the Ogle Center, Indiana University Southeast.

James L. Russell (1872–1937), a New Albany, Indiana artist, opened his Art Shop in 1906 and created an influential gathering place for regional artists during a time that preceded World War I and continued into the 1930s. Inspired by a stretch of scenic auto roads from Cincinnati, Ohio to Mount Vernon, Illinois known as the “Wonderland Way,” the artists adopted this name for their Art Club. After

Front page article in today's Courier-Journal announcing the unveiling of the Wonderland Way Collection at the Ogle Center! We will be hosting a press conference today at 11:00am in the Ogle Center lobby.

IUS to get artwork worth more than $500,000 The Smiths, who had certified art appraisers evaluate the paintings, said that the 10 paintings are valued at more than $300,000, and in the next few years they plan to donate more than 40 others valued at more than $200,000. They also are encouraging other collectors to do the same.
