Some days the space hums like a crossroads.

Not just of hallways and coffee cups—but of industries brushing shoulders, ideas trading seats, and strangers becoming the beginning of something familiar.

Last Friday started early with a leads group from One Southern Indiana Chamber & Economic Development filling the morning with handshakes, referrals, and the kind of momentum that likes to arrive before most people finish their first cup of coffee. By afternoon, a founder meetup hosted through Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) turned the room into a quieter kind of spark—builders talking shop, trading scars and strategies, sketching futures on napkins and notepads.

And then there are the in-between moments—the ones that don’t always fit neatly into categories. A wellness table set up in the corner. A conversation that starts with “what do you do?” and ends with “we should talk more.”

Tomorrow carries that same rhythm forward.

We’ll host our member-led Midday Momentum with Jessica Staten stepping in to share her voice and story. Guests from Sukhino Express Wellness will be here with infrared mats—inviting people to slow down just enough to feel what their nervous systems have been asking for. And Jessica McCartin of Elite Primary Care and Wellness, LLC will open a Q&A on her services, meeting curiosity with care, and healthcare with something that feels a little more human.

Different days. Different doors opening.

But always the same thread running through it all:
people building, people sharing, people becoming less alone in what they’re trying to create.

You might walk in and see a familiar face.
Or you might leave having met the one you didn’t know you needed yet.

Sunshine ☀️
Good company ⛳
Great conversations 🌱

Last week we had the chance to join the 1si Golf Scramble as guests of Southern Indiana Health Foundation, and it was one of those days that reminds us how fortunate we are to be part of this community.

We spent the day catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and enjoying some beautiful weather along the way.

At The Root, we’re all about connection—and sometimes those connections happen around a conference table, and sometimes they happen on a golf course.

Huge thanks to Southern Indiana Health Foundation for inviting us to join their team. We had an absolute blast!

Last week we had the pleasure of joining the One Southern Indiana Golf Scramble, thanks to an invitation from our friends at Southern Indiana Health Foundation. ⛳🌞

The weather couldn’t have been better, the company was even better, and the day was filled with the kinds of conversations that remind us why we love being part of this community.

One of the best parts of events like these is stepping away from the office and connecting with people from across the region—business leaders, nonprofit professionals, community advocates, and partners who are all working to make Southern Indiana stronger.

We’re grateful to Southern Indiana Health Foundation for including us on their team and for the incredible work they continue to do in our community.

We may not be ready for the PGA Tour just yet, but we had a great time trying. 😄

Here’s to great weather, great people, and great partnerships.

One of the challenges many entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small business owners face is access to quality healthcare.

When you're building a business, it's easy to put your own wellbeing at the bottom of the list. And for many small teams, traditional healthcare options can feel complicated, expensive, or simply out of reach.

That's why we're excited to partner with Elite Primary Care & Wellness and offer a special discount to Root members. 🌱

This partnership is about more than a member perk. It's about supporting the people behind the businesses. The founders. The creatives. The entrepreneurs. The teams working hard to build something meaningful.

We're also excited that Jessica McCartin of Elite Primary Care & Wellness will be joining us after Jess Staten's Midday Momentum presentation. Following the event, Jessica will be available to answer questions about her services and how her practice is helping individuals and businesses access more personalized healthcare.

Some organizations focus on treating symptoms.

The most impactful organizations ask a harder question: What's causing the problem in the first place?

We had the opportunity to attend ALIGN Southern Indiana's Early Childhood Education and Mental Health Conference, and one of the things that stood out most was the organization's commitment to addressing root causes—not just reacting to outcomes.

The conversations throughout the day centered on the critical early years of a child's life and how families, educators, healthcare professionals, nonprofits, and community leaders can work together to create stronger foundations for lifelong success.

It's easy to overlook how much of our future workforce, community health, educational outcomes, and economic vitality are shaped during childhood. The research is clear: when we invest early, the benefits ripple outward for decades.

We left inspired by the collaboration in the room and encouraged by the number of people dedicating their time, expertise, and energy to creating better outcomes for children and families across Southern Indiana.

At The Root, we often talk about building strong communities. Events like this are a reminder that some of the most important community-building work happens long before someone starts a business, joins the workforce, or enters a classroom.

Thank you to ALIGN Southern Indiana for bringing together so many passionate people around such an important mission. We're grateful for the opportunity to have a front-row seat to the work being done and excited to see the impact it continues to make throughout our region. 🌱

This week we had the opportunity to celebrate a milestone years in the making: the ribbon cutting for The Vista at Origin Park. 🌿

Standing there, it’s hard not to be excited about what’s coming.

Today, The Vista is a beautiful event space overlooking a landscape full of possibility. In the years ahead, it will be surrounded by an incredible network of trails, outdoor recreation, water activities, gathering spaces, and natural beauty that will serve our entire region.

Projects like this don’t happen overnight. They take vision, persistence, collaboration, and people who are willing to think decades ahead.

We love getting to witness moments like these—when years of planning become something tangible that a community can rally around.

We also enjoyed catching up with so many community and business leaders who are helping shape the future of Southern Indiana. And as a bonus, we were lucky enough to walk in with Amanda Alexander from Leadership Southern Indiana, who is always doing incredible work to connect and strengthen our region.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. We can’t wait to watch the next chapter unfold. ✨

One of the strongest communities we can build is one that supports children and families from the very beginning.

We're grateful for organizations like ALIGN Southern Indiana that are bringing together educators, healthcare professionals, nonprofit leaders, parents, and community advocates around such an important conversation.

We're especially excited to see our friend Jessica Staten helping champion the 2026 Southern Indiana Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Conference. Jessica's passion for building healthier communities and stronger support systems is evident in everything she does.

The future of our region depends on the wellbeing of our children, and that work starts long before they enter a classroom. When we invest in early childhood mental health, we're investing in stronger families, stronger schools, and stronger communities.

If this topic intersects with your work, your family, or your heart, we encourage you to learn more and consider attending TOMORROW on June 12, 2026.

Thank you to Align Southern Indiana and all of the partners making this important conversation possible. 🌱
