Floyd County Solid Waste Management District (a.k.a. Recycle Floyd County) is the primary agency charged with advancing recycling in the county. Thus, 50 by 30!

Our Goal of 50 by 30:
Our board of directors approved an ambitious goal at its March 2022 meeting that envisions Floyd County as the first county in Indiana to achieve recycling 50% of its municipal solid waste stream. The aim is to achieve this by 2030. The 50% goal was established long ago by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management
