Look Up Once in a While When I was that idealistic 20-something (disclaimer: I still have quite a bit of idealistic thought, and no, I don’t think that’s a bad thing), it was full steam ahead as I launched my career as a journalist - no one was going to stop me in my path that I had designed.

Look what I found on the shelf at .cafe in Asbury Park. Gee, I wonder how that got there.😊 “Live It” is a new book that features 31 authors who share their stories, while giving space for others to do the same. I’ve edited the book and contributed one chapter, Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe…Finding the Words in the Face of Challenge.

Great afternoon with Anna Quindlen. She turned out to be the gracious and genuine person I thought she was through her writing, and that was a wonderful thing.

Our book, “Live It” is now available! More than ever, the world feels divided, loud, uncertain, and disconnected, and what we all do next matters even more. That is exactly why this book matters. I’m proud to be part of this compilation book featuring 31 authors hailing from the U.S. to Uganda who share their stories of courage, compassion and resilience while also giving others the space to share their own story!

It’s starting to feel a whole lot more real. Live It launches January 20!

Proud to be part of something that is much more than a project - it’s an evolution, an evolution that happens when a group of people with different backgrounds, talents and ideas are brought together to share their stories. Woven together with a collective purpose, “Live It” is a compilation book that doesn’t preach or judge - rather, through powerful storytelling it opens space for you to do the same.

Wondering how 31 authors accomplished this? Learn more how Jodi Grinwald, CPC, ELI-MP first discovered the impetus and then rallied this group stretching from California to New Jersey to Uganda and then pre-order your own copy at Barnes & Noble, Walmart. The book will be available on January 20!

I can personally attest to the fact that Mikie Sherrill’s running mate, Dale Caldwell is the real deal. I had the pleasure and honor of working with both he and his dad. Dale is not only committed to his faith and family but also to his students at Centennary University and the wider community. This comes as no surprise because he had some of the best teachers of what it means to be a good person in Gil (walked with MLK) and Grace Caldwell, community servants who loved each other and never lost hope in the goodness of others.

What a nice memory from February 25 of last year when we welcomed .dalecaldwell to a learning session and discussion at . With his thoughtful and compassionate manner, he engaged other community members in a healthy discussion of Black history and how the forerunners like his father helped carve out more inclusive rights and conversation. As president of Centenary University, he was obviously committed to his students and their futures.

I wrote this blog two years ago today, which was yet another beautiful sunny morning, maybe a reminder that the memory of the many lives lost should not be forgotten. Let's use today to be the time we come closer together and not let the hateful rhetoric widen the gap even more.
