Dr Greg Rose (MyTPI) Reveals the BEST Drill to Fix Late Ground Forces 03/10/2026

As a Golf Digest Top 50 Fitness Trainer, one of the biggest things I see when evaluating golfers on force plates is this:
Many amateurs are not necessarily incapable of producing ground reaction forces. They’re producing them too late!!!

That timing issue is a huge limiter.

When it comes to using the ground effectively in the golf swing, sequence comes first, timing comes second, and magnitude comes third. If the sequencing and timing are off, it does not matter how much force a player can create. More force at the wrong time will not produce the result they want. If the ball is gone and your peaking your forces late, who cares.

Using force plates gives us the ability to measure this objectively, not guess at it.

We can see when forces are occurring, how the player is using the lead and trail side, where the pressure is being applied, and whether the player is actually creating the kind of movement strategy that can transfer into speed and efficiency.

What makes this conversation so important is that once you identify a player is late, the next step is having practical tools to improve it.

A few of the concepts I really like for helping move ground reaction forces earlier:
* Throwing drill variations
* Golf jump progressions
* Rotary chair drills to improve foot pressure awareness and force application

The goal is not simply to help a player push harder. It is to help them push sooner and in the right sequence.

When golfers begin to improve the timing of their ground reaction forces, the swing often becomes more athletic, more efficient, and more powerful. That is when players start to feel speed they may not have accessed before.

This is one of the reasons I value using force plates in both assessment and training. They help take a concept that can seem abstract and make it measurable, coachable, and trainable.

There’s something special about the traditions that come with this time of year—the familiar moments, the reflections, and the time spent together. I am truly grateful for family and friendships in my life. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy holiday season.

Huge congratulations to on being named the 2024 Richard D. Haskell Men’s Player of the Year!
An unbelievable achievement and well-deserved recognition for one of the most consistent, hard-working players in Massachusetts golf.

I’ve only been working with Matt for the past six weeks, but it’s been incredible to see the level of commitment he brings to his training . This award is a reflection of years of disciplined work on and off the course — and I’m grateful to support him as he continues to elevate his game.

Proud of you, Matt. More to come. ⛳💪

Josh Allen’s TPI Assessment: Inside the Swing of the NFL Superstar 10/31/2025

“We’re not Buffalo Bills fans here… but like Iron Man said: ‘Break the wrist. Walk away.’
(Okay, name that movie 👀)

What I loved about this session with Josh Allen wasn’t the 6’5”, 240 lbs, 27" vertical stuff — it was how human the swing problems were.

Josh’s 3 wishes were the same 3 I hear from golfers every week:
1️⃣ Better contact (center-face, not “sometimes thin, sometimes left”)
2️⃣ Understand my sequence (what should fire first, and when?)
3️⃣ Stop searching (when it goes off, how do I fix it now?)

Here’s what showed up:
✅ Aiming right of the target → forces an over-the-top or flip
✅ Ball creeping too far back → forces an early release
✅ Reverse spine angle (head in front of pelvis) → kills vertical, feeds timing misses
✅ Right-hip mobility limitation → makes “real rotation” hard, so the body “fake-turns” and sways
✅ Vertical force was there as an athlete… just pushing in the wrong direction

So what did TPI do?
🔌 “Don’t touch the electric fence” drill — load over the trail side without swaying
🦶 Flare the trail foot — make rotation possible right now
🧠 Spot alignment — pick something in front of the ball so the eyes stop lying
🧘‍♂️ Hip windshield wipers + 90/90 — fix the thing in the gym so you don’t have to “cheat” it in the swing
🏌️ Then train draws/fades to own ball flight

That’s literally the body–swing connection we talk about in golf fitness.
If you’re a golfer who keeps “searching” — one day it’s a hook, next day it’s a high right — it’s probably not your club, it’s your setup + rotation + force direction.

If you want this level of screen → fix → train → repeat, let’s get you in for a TPI-based assessment and power profile. Newton/Needham/Weston/Wellesley/Brookline/Watertown golfers, juniors, college kids, mid-ams — this is the process.
