Our 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization educates against misconceptions and advocates for annual influenza vaccinations especially for adolescents.

On February 9, 2005, 15-year-old Martin McGowan, died of complications from influenza just 24 hours after his first symptom appeared. Martin had not been vaccinated against the flu. Each year since 2006, the McGowan family and their team of volunteers partner with LVHN and attend our drive-thru flu shot clinics to provide informational brochures to those who come to the event. “Every time we hear a mom or dad tell us – ‘We were in line earlier in the day, got our shots, then read Martin’s story and decided to drive back to the clinic with our kids in the car’ – our hearts skip a beat.” Seventeen years later and we are still in awe of LVHN’s commitment to keep the community healthy,” Diane McGowan says.
