Unquestionably the island’s best burger and that’s saying something seeing how even years on I’m still bitter over the death of Surf Taco lol. But seriously year after year now Burger 25 continues to have LBI’s best burger on lock with their Big Smack and killer loaded fries that practically mirror the burger. Diners are one of the most Jersey things you’ll ever come across, a menu that makes the Cheesecake Factory’s look small and probably serves breakfast till dinners gone. Dockside Diner LBI is just that and one of LBI’s most iconic spots in Spray Beach that’s been a fixture of Long Beach Boulevard since 1955 overlooking the bayside. The plates are pretty picturesque with taste to back it up, the short rib was an easy choice and anytime mashed potatoes and gravy are in front of me it’s a good time. Must try for sure and one of the pillars of LBI’s old school dining scene!!!

For the last few years every time beach week comes around one of the things I look forward to most is getting one of the best Italian subs at one of my favorite sandwich shops at Lenny and John’s Subs but this time I decided to change it up. Growing up in North Jersey I’m almost embarrassed to say I’ve never tried a sloppy Joe so it was finally time and I gotta say, I think these are kinda my thing. Jam packed with roast beef, turkey, ham, Swiss, Russian dressing and an out of this world slaw on triple decker rye bread even I couldn’t believe how incredible this thing was and easy to almost put the entire thing away regardless of any underlying health issues. The staff here are always super friendly and welcoming making it the perfect spot to sit down and grab a quick bite, make sure to scroll back over the years and see my previous reviews for more!!!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the LBI food scene has recently exploded featuring a blend of old school favorites and new elite destination level spots. I said last year Queen City Crust was my favorite Detroit that I’ve tried, maybe that’s a sentimental thing to me as the island has always been the one place on Earth I’d wanna be most or maybe it’s the fact that since last year when they were named best pizza on the Jersey Shore they’ve also been named best Detroit pie in the state and one of the best overall. I like to think my credibility of trying the best pizza from coast to coast also means something but who am I. But quickly the ingredients and process are on a rarified level, both pies we killed this year look nearly identical to the two last year and the fried cheese wall from taste to texture is unlike any we’ve come across with a pillowy airy structure from a couple days ago fermentation. I know I said I’d keep it simple on the reviews this week but I’m a huge mark for this place especially the owner who both this year and last regardless of how busy he was prepping took the time to talk to us and really made it feel special. I feel proud for them to be getting the attention that’s beyond well deserved and I can’t wait to I get to come back again next year, maybe sooner if I have some more questions on how to get better myself.

One of the most popular Wing spots in all the state, the The Chicken Or The Egg needs no introduction. No beach week is complete without a stop at the LBI institution for their massive buffalo wings and menu loaded with crazy culinary creations.
