Lott Quartet spent this past weekend in residence at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana! 🎻🎶

We really enjoyed working with the talented music students and performing in their beautiful recital hall. A huge thank you to the NSU faculty for having us and everyone who made it possible! 🎶

Our featured artist to brighten up your Monday should be a familiar face for New Orleans concert-goers! Meet violinist Benjamin Thacher, member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and Lott String Quartet, and professor at the University of New Orleans. Benjamin will be performing at CCCMF's Tenth Anniversary Season on October 10, 11, 13, and 15.

🎻What is your favorite thing about living in New Orleans?
""I love the flexibility to be involved in such a wide range of musical experiences here. One week I might be performing great symphonic repertoire with the LPO, the next giving a string quartet recital with the Lott Quartet, and then diving into Puccini with the New Orleans Opera. That variety keeps life here constantly exciting and inspiring."

🎻If you could have dinner or a drink with one composer or artist, who would it be, and why?
"Probably Bernstein. He is such a brilliant artist and intellect that I would gain so much from that experience."

🎻What's a fun fact about you that we wouldn't know by reading your bio?
"I started dabbling with viola during the pandemic and have been fortunate to have opportunities to perform as a violist with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Lakes Area Music Festival, and upcoming appearances with the Atlanta and Vancouver Symphonies."
