WASHINGTON STREET CLOSURE UPDATE

The City of Natchitoches announces that the closure of Washington Street for emergency sewer repairs will remain in effect through Tuesday, March 24.

Although the northbound lane of Front Street is closed at the Church Street intersection and through traffic is being detoured around the work site via Church Street, Third Street, and Texas Street, access to businesses along Front Street is still available via the network of adjacent side streets between Front Street and Second Street, specifically Horne Street (for eastbound traffic), St. Denis Street (for westbound traffic), and Lafayette Street (for traffic in both directions).

The City of Natchitoches advises that Washington Street between Lafayette Street and Texas Street will be re-opened to traffic overnight on Monday, March 23, 2026, but will be closed again at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, to complete pavement repairs associated with the sewer repair work that was performed today.

It is anticipated that all repair work will be completed on Tuesday and this street will be re-opened to all traffic sometime Tuesday afternoon.

The City of Natchitoches apologizes for the inconvenience and is working diligently to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
