This Thursday, June 25th, is Pride Night at the Nashville Sounds! We’re planning to meet up at the Box Office at 6pm to buy tickets so we can sit together. We hope to see you there!

Every week we celebrate our belonging at Jesus’s inclusive table. It’s always a special treat when Craig Ammon leads us in this time of reflection and community.

We’re so excited to welcome our friend Rabbi Brian Mayer tomorrow! He’ll be sharing from his book, “Rabbi Brian’s Highly Unorthodox Gospel.” We’ll have copies available for purchase and Rabbi Brian is happy to sign them, too.

He’ll also be joining us for Common Ground lunch right after the gathering. We’ll meet at Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint in Edgehill right after church.

This Sunday we are beginning a new series called Bible Stories for Grown-Ups. The idea behind the series is simple: Many of us were offered interpretations of the Bible as children and, either implicitly or explicitly, told that we had the right “answers” and that faithfulness meant keeping and repeating those interpretations for our whole lives. But that isn’t how anything really works, is it? As we mature into adulthood and beyond, we take what we were taught as children—about math, science, etc—and expand our understanding as we grow. Shouldn’t we do the same with the Bible?

Our first story in this series will be the contentious relationship between two brothers, Jacob and Esau. What does their story have to say to us as grown-ups? We’ll talk about it this Sunday at GracePointe!

Are you angry right now? Many of us are, and rightly so! The current state of the US is enough to keep our collective blood boiling. But, what do we do with our anger? How do we process, engage, or use it? This week will invite us to consider our options for how we respond to the anger we feel in this moment.
