I didn't want to work out last night. So I took my own advice. 👇
Tired, rainy, long day. So I used three strategies from Monday's blog on myself: I had a buddy meeting me, I was booked in so my coaches expected me, and I promised myself only five minutes of moving.
Then the evening had a few hiccups. I ended up coaching the 4:30 because we were short a coach, forgot about a client call, got one set in, and lost every bit of motivation. I almost went home. I went back in and finished three full sets.
What's really interesting is when you look at the video, take notice of my affect on the first video and then compare it to how I look on the second one. I'm not the type of person who is intrinsically motivated every day. I'm just hooked on feeling good afterward, and my systems get me in the door when motivation doesn't show up.
What's your go-to trick on the days you don't feel like it? Tell me in the comments. 👇
Tired. Rainy. Zero motivation. Taking my own advice
I did not want to work out last night, so I used my own workout motivation tricks on myself.
I’m a gym owner and coach, and I’m tired and unmotivated plenty of days, the same as you. On Monday I wrote about how to make time for exercise when life is chaos, so tonight I followed my own advice:
Tip Tuesday 🔥
This week we’re going over the DB Hang Clean - a fantastic lower body power exercise that assists with real-world athletic qualities like jumping, sprinting, and quick change of direction.

Does any of this sound familiar?
The alarm jolts you out of a deep sleep. There's a lunch to pack, a permission slip to sign, a text from your mom, and an inbox that filled up overnight. Somewhere in the middle of it all is a quiet voice saying, "I really should get back to the gym." Then the day swallows you whole.
This is a little hard to take in, but I want you to try: things are not going to calm down. The stars will never align. Finding the time is a myth. You have to make the time.
In this week's Motivation Monday blog, I'm sharing:
✅ Why exercise is one of the best things you can do for your mental health, your family, and your career
✅ How I make time as a gym owner, with 11 employees and a mom I help care for
✅ 6 practical ways to fit fitness into a chaotic life
✅ What our members Karen and Eric, both teachers, would tell anyone who's afraid to start

Discipline isn’t about always feeling motivated—it’s about showing up anyway. 💪
Some days you’ll want to train, and some days you won’t. Some days the easy choice will be tempting. But progress comes from doing what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it.
Motivation gets you started. Discipline keeps you going.
Keep showing up. Keep putting in the work. Your future self will thank you. 🔥
