Time to Learn delivers trauma informed workshops to communities of color in Greater Nashua.

In 2022, Dr. Chari Henry-Wilson was inspired by her childhood to design and deliver trauma-informed programs that help diverse families of color in succeeding in the seven dimensions of wellness (i.e., emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, environmental, and financial) in the Greater Nashua community. The program was created under the Smart Start Coalition of United Way.

I loved this meaningful quote:

“Trauma-informed care in the classroom means creating a learning environment where children feel safe and supported.” 💛

We’re also excited to share that Time to Learn has submitted a grant for a Whole-Person initiative to bring trauma-informed workshops to underrepresented families in the Greater Nashua area. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Together, we’re building brighter futures, one child and one family at a time.

Trauma-informed care in the classroom means creating a learning environment where children feel safe and supported.

Our teachers understand that behaviors are often a form of communication, not misbehavior, and respond with both patience and empathy.

For children who have experienced instability or stress, this approach can be life-changing, giving them the security they need to heal, grow, and thrive.

This week, Time to Learn had the honor of creating and delivering a five-day curriculum on the life and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On Friday, students shared their own dreams, powerful reminders of hope, courage, and the impact of young voices.

Thank you to World Academy for the opportunity for Jordyn, Joslyn, and me to be part of this meaningful journey with students. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us:
“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” Thank you for believing in the power of education, dreams, and community. 💙
