lead God’s people into battle, and so to deliver the Israelites from the oppression of the enemy, and Gideon steps onto the threshing floor…and once again, God moves to separate the wheat from the chaff. 🤔

Israel fell during the time of the Judges, then we are clinging to worthless idols. 🤔

A violent, gruesome scene. And yet, God allowed the event to occur…and is it not
so that God ordained it? Jael took advantage of divine circumstance, she was enabled by divine power, and she was commissioned by divine warrant. Jael’s act contributed to the deliverance of Israel, ordered by God Almighty who is the Righteous Judge and the Avenger. 🤔

How is it that they did not know these things? It must be because the previous generation did
not pass them on. The first generation did not teach their children about the great events of Israelite history, and further they did not pass on to them their knowledge of and devotion to God as savior and deliverer and sustainer and their
conquering king. Where was the testimony of God’s people? 🤔

Canaanite worship continued in the land that God has given to his people. Now we read here that, in reaction to God’s judgment, the Israelite people stopped what they were doing and offered sacrifices to the Lord. But the damage had been done, and the people knew it.🤔
