Philo Learning Collective
Philo Learning Collective is a farm-based learning environment rooted in real work, responsibility, and connection.
Learners care for animals, work the land, and build confidence, capability, and life skills through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
🇺🇸 Remembering 9/11 Through Exploration
Today, our learners honored September 11 through a meaningful collaborative challenge: creating a giant American flag from scratch.
They measured, counted, painted, problem-solved, communicated, and worked together to build the 13 stripes, blue field, and 50 stars.
Each star was uniquely designed to represent something they love about America, their community, or a hope they have for the future. ⭐
As we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, we also reflect on the courage, service, unity, and strength shown by so many.
Different hands. Different ideas. One flag. One collective. 🇺🇸
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Upcoming Kids’ Markets!
We wanted to share two upcoming opportunities for youth to put their creativity and entrepreneurial skills into action! Whether your child already has a little business, has something they love to make, or simply wants to try selling something for the first time, these are great opportunities to get some real-world experience.
Artisan Market Naples – Kids Market
📅 Saturday, September 12
⏰ 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
📍 8793 Tamiami Trail E. #113, Naples
Biz Kidz Market – Bonita Springs
📅 Saturday, September 19
⏰ 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
📍 28120 Race Track Rd, Bonita Springs
💲 Vendor registration: $35
We strongly encourage your children to participate if they can! Creating a product, setting prices, talking with customers, handling money, and experiencing what it’s like to run their own little business are exactly the kinds of hands-on learning opportunities we love.
And even if your child isn’t ready to sell yet, come visit and support the young entrepreneurs! Walking around the markets can be a great way to spark ideas and show them what other kids are creating.
📚 Drop Everything And Read!
A quiet moment at Philo as our learners settled in with books they chose for themselves during D.E.A.R. - Drop Everything And Read. 📖✨
Building strong readers starts with making space for curiosity, choice, and the simple joy of getting lost in a good book.
Pause. Pick a book. Read. Grow. 🌱
🌱 Growing skills, planting possibilities! 🍀
Our learners explored 4-H’s core values - Head, Heart, Hands, and Health while working together on a creative project and planting seeds. Through teamwork and hands-on learning, they practiced responsibility, curiosity, and care for the world around them.
A special thank-you to the Collier County 4-H Outreach Coordinator for helping bring agriculture, leadership, and real-world learning to life at Philo! Collier County 4-H

BIG NEWS FOR PHILO!
We’re excited to announce that Philo Learning Collective is officially a member of the Visit Florida Farms- FL Agritourism Association
This is such a natural next step for Philo and everything we’re building. Our learners don’t just learn about agriculture, they experience it every day. From caring for goats, chickens, ducks, quail, rabbits, donkeys and more, to gardening, farm-based projects, entrepreneurship, and hands-on exploration, agriculture is woven into the Philo experience.
Being part of Florida’s agritourism community gives us another opportunity to connect education, agriculture, and our local community while helping the next generation understand where food comes from, how animals are cared for, and why Florida agriculture matters.
We’re proud to see Philo Learning Collective listed among Florida’s agritourism destinations and excited for what this opens up for our learners and community!
Come learn. Explore. Grow.

Gratitude in action ❤️🚒🧁
After our visit to Fire Station No. 73, our learners turned appreciation into action, creating handmade thank-you cards and baking cupcakes for the firefighters who serve our community.
Learning goes beyond the studio. It’s about noticing the people who help us, showing appreciation, and giving back. ❤️
🚒🔥 Learning Beyond the Studio!
Our Philo learners took learning into the real world with a visit to our local fire department! 👩🚒🧑🚒
From exploring the fire trucks and equipment to learning how firefighters prepare, respond, and serve our community, our learners got an up-close look at what courage, teamwork, responsibility, and service look like in action.
A huge THANK YOU to our local firefighters for welcoming our learners, answering their many questions, and showing us what it means to care for a community. ❤️🚒
At Philo, the community is our classroom. 🌱
🧱 20 KAPLAs. 12 Challenges. Endless Possibilities.💡
Today’s Crew Build Challenge put our learners’ creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance to work! With just 20 KAPLA blocks, learners tackled a series of 12 building challenges, thinking, testing, adjusting, and trying again.
No step-by-step instructions. No “right” way to build. Just a challenge and the freedom to figure it out.
At Philo, we believe some of the best learning happens when learners are given the opportunity to think for themselves, experiment with ideas, and discover what they’re capable of creating. 🌱
Think.
Build.
Adjust.
Try again.
🎤✨ Learners Leading the Spark!
At Philo, learners don’t just participate in the conversation, they learn how to lead it. 🌱
Leading a Spark means asking thoughtful questions, listening to different perspectives, sharing ideas, and having the courage to guide the collective.
These are the moments where confidence grows, voices become stronger, and learners discover:
💡 “My ideas matter. My voice matters. I can lead.”
Because leadership isn’t something we wait until adulthood to practice, it’s something we grow every day.
🌱✨ THE PHILO EXPERIENCE: MICROGREENS! ✨🌱
We planted. We learned. We laughed. And we got our hands dirty! 🙌🌿
Our Microgreens Workshop with JusTeeny’s Greenies brought Philo learners, families, and adults together for a hands-on experience all about growing, discovering, and trying something new.
Because at Philo, learning isn’t just for kids, it’s something we do together. 💚
From tiny seeds to big curiosity, this is what community learning looks like: all ages, side by side, learning by doing.
A HUGE thank you to JusTeeny’s Greenies for sharing your knowledge, passion, and love of growing with our Philo community! 🌱
Real people. Real experiences. Real learning.
This is The Philo Experience. ✨
