Our Safety and Traffic Enforcement Bureau conducted an operation this week along Immokalee Road from Livingston Road to Oil Well Road. The operation targeted aggressive driving, speeding, and red-light running. Ninety-five traffic stops were conducted resulting in 74 citations. This is an important reminder for drivers to follow the rules of the road, give yourself plenty of time to get where you’re going and always be aware of your surroundings.

Next week marks the beginning of the annual “Click It or Ticket” initiative where our deputies will also be paying close attention for drivers without seatbelts in addition to school-zone speeders, aggressive drivers, and red-light/stop-sign runners.

Remember, you can report areas where you regularly observe violations to our ZOOM Traffic Hotline. Call 239-530-ZOOM and leave a detailed message about the location and the unsafe driving activity you’ve observed there. We listen to those messages and pass them along to our deputies who are out patrolling.
