This one crushed me. Fostering is a selfless act of love. Sometimes we drag our own hearts through the mud when it’s time to let go. It’s bittersweet. It hurts. My home is once again empty, but now there’s one less dog sitting in a shelter hoping for a chance to find a loving home and it opens up my home to do it again. Why do I do it? It’s my calling. As painful as it is sometimes it’s also the best feeling in the world. No, I can’t save them all but I can make a difference. One dog at a time.
