CSU has published its first 2026 Hurricane Season Forecast!
The full forecast can be found here:

🌀 NEW: The 2026 Hurricane Season forecast from Colorado State University is in. It calls for a below-average to near-average season in terms of the number of storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes due to a strengthening El Niño by the peak of hurricane season. Historically, strong El Niño events lead to greater wind shear and a suppression or lowering of tropical activity across the Caribbean, Gulf and Atlantic. While that would obviously be great news, remember, just takes one big storm to seem like an active year (which can still occur even during El Niño years like Betsy-1965, Camille-1969 and Michael-2018). Hope for the best, but always be prepared just in case.
