A great illustration of the diversity of marine forms found in the shallow waters of the ocean. It is by Adolphe Philippe Millot (1857–1921), French entomologist, painter, and lithographer. A number of his color illustrations of biological subjects are featured in the "Nouveau Larousse illustré" an illustrated French language encyclopedia published between 1897 and 1904.
