Proud to be part of your journey, ARES. Adopt this good boy.
Rescue is all about helping the community and we proudly responded to an evening plea for help from our friends at Pampered Pet Resorts while they faced evacuation needs due to the brush fire at Picayune Strand State Forest. We picked up and cared for six dogs - safely distanced from the fire and evacuation zones - and we secured one of our fosters to take in a seventh dog (Thank you, Gail & Gary). It was an all-night slumber party and we are happy to report that all dogs returned safely to PPR today where they are in good hands. Kudos to the PPR team for their emergency response plans and for going the extra miles for the dogs in their care.

🚨Help for Gentle BEN 🙏🏼♥️ His owner is battling for his life and his one wish is that someone kind and loving will take over loving and caring for this sweet boy.
Gentle Ben arrived at Collier DAS in October 2022. Aside from being severely underweight and covered in bite wounds, his ears were horribly infected and swollen shut. Ben slowly began to put on weight while in foster care. His best friend was a female German Shepherd that had no use for other dogs, but fell in love with Ben and he with her. Ben subsequently found a wonderful home with an amazing dad. Sadly, Ben’s dad has been diagnosed with cancer, which has progressed to the point that he can no longer care for Ben and his one wish is the peace of knowing that Ben finds a new loving home.
Ben has an easy-going (couch-potato) personality and is a gentleman on leash walks.
5-6 yrs old
Neutered & current on vaccines.

🚨 Help CHAMP find a new and loving home. His owner has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and is unable to continue caring for this good boy. 🙏🏼♥️
In the spring of 2024, this sweet boy was found wandering alone after suffering severe animal bites. He was brought to Collier County Domestic Animal Services and then placed into foster care where he began a slow but steady recovery. Through his strength and resilience, he earned the name CHAMP. After healing, Champ found a wonderful, loving home. Sadly, his mom and primary caregiver was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Between weekly treatments and the fatigue that comes with them, she can no longer provide Champ the life he deserves. With an incredibly heavy heart, she is now searching for a new, happy home for him.
From Champ’s mom:
“Champ is an amazing dog with a big personality and also a total lazy potato. He loves to cuddle and burrow into blankets when it’s time to sleep. He’s a big, gentle, affectionate boy who just wants to be around his people. Because of my recent diagnosis, I’m no longer able to care for him the way he deserves—but my greatest wish is for him to find a home filled with love, comfort, and companionship.”
Champ has already proven how strong and loving he is. Now he just needs someone to give him the stability, affection, and forever home he so deeply deserves. 🤍
