It’s been a while, friends.
About 7 months, to be exact.
I’m excited to come back from my hiatus to play some tunes with you.
Come brunch with me in a couple weeks - just like old times. 🎶

There’s a lot of anxiety that comes with being a songwriter. The anxiety only compounds when you decide to release music into the wild. There’s the obvious worries...
“Will people like it?”
“Is this even a good song?”
“Am I even good enough to do this?”.
Then there’s the anxiety that comes with time. After a successful release and the high that comes with it, you start to feel like you’re on some kind of clock to release the next thing. Time goes by. People ask, “when are you putting out new music?” And you’re anxious over the fact that your answer is you have no frickin idea. Then, more time goes by, and you wonder if you even have anything worth saying anymore.
Compound that with the anxiety of creating a song and wondering how it will sound best and “let’s add this”and “throw in some of that”. You work tirelessly, all the while not knowing necessarily if this is what’s best for the song.
Well, all those feelings? That’s what I’ve been feeling.
So I consider it Divine Providence that I found this song in my Dropbox from a writing session Nico and I did a couple years back.
Something about this song was just so beautiful to me the way it was - no need for over-production or auto-tune or extras.
But then, there was the fact that somehow Past me seemed to speak to Present me in a way that was so needed for this moment.

We spend a lot of time sitting, waiting, wishing for things and not enough time moving, doing, accomplishing those things.
And then we wonder where all the time has gone.
Releasing a song soon about that and it’s not perfect and it’s not fully produced and I don’t really care.
I’ve decided that imperfect things have their own kind of beauty and I’m excited to share this one. This collab with out next week.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there. I’m mostly grateful today for the little girl who has given me the great privilege of being able to celebrate this day on the receiving end.
