June is National Safety Month and we want to highlight a grant program established in 2015, the Safe Arborist Techniques Fund.

A joint program of TREE Fund and International Society of Arboriculture it supports research and development into the techniques and equipment that arborists use in climbing, rigging, and working on trees, and the means of identifying potential hazards, to provide a safer working environment.

This $15,000 grant is available for application during TREE Fund's Fall Application Cycle, which starts on August 1. See more information at https://treefund.org/researchgrants/safearborist

We are very sad to share the news of the passing of TREE Fund's Chairman Emeritus, Allan West. At the age of 92, Al passed away peacefully in his home on June 3rd, 2026.

Al was a huge part of Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund's genesis as a coming together between the ISA Research Trust and National Arborist Foundation beginning back in the 1990s. He served on the TREE Fund board from 2001-2008. He was TREE Fund's only Chairman Emeritus and one of only four people to be recognized as a trustee emeritus.

Please join us as we remember this giant of tree research.
