The transformation of Ruth Lake Country Club is now complete! It has been especially rewarding to see the finished spaces closely resemble the client’s vision and the original designs/renderings. From the building additions, expanded outdoor patios, and terraces overlooking the golf course to the reimagined Modern-Farmhouse-style interiors, the Club now has a cohesive image and aesthetic inside and out.
Working alongside James Thomas Interiors, Creber Construction, Inc., Manhard Consulting, RTM Engineering Consultants, Johnson Wilbur Adams, Inc., and TriMark USA, CVG Architects has helped bring consistency to the existing spaces by updating locker rooms, family dining and bar/grille areas, living room, restrooms, and banquet facilities.

🚧 Construction Update: In Montgomery, IL, progress continues on the new Wintrust Financial Corporation facility. The location will soon bring a full-service banking destination to Montgomery and the surrounding communities.
Designed to support both traditional banking and Wealth Management services, the ground-up facility was designed to enhance accessibility and convenience. In addition to dual entrances that improve curb appeal, this location will operate outside of standard banking hours and on weekends, offering clients a more flexible option for their banking needs.
As the facility takes shape, distinctive masonry detailing, custom cast stone elements, and thoughtfully designed interior features like the transom windows and wood-beam-accented ceiling are beginning to shine through.
The CVG Architects team continues to provide comprehensive architectural and planning services, helping to coordinate everything from site development and building design to zoning approvals, signage integration, and construction-phase support. Through it all, we have been thankful to the project team that has helped us move this project forward: R. C. Wegman Construction, McCluskey Engineering Corporation, CAGE Engineering, Inc., RTM Engineering Consultants, and Weaver Companies.
View the construction photos below and stay tuned as this project moves toward completion in August 2026.

For many Country Clubs in the Midwest, maintaining member engagement through the winter months can be a challenge. So the pressing question becomes, how can we create spaces and experiences that extend beyond the golf season and keep the club active year-round?
In his new article, CVG Architects’ President/CEO Bruce George, AIA, NCARB explores how strategic design can help clubs maximize their amenities for every season. From heated paddle tennis courts and golf simulators to adaptable gathering spaces and operationally efficient layouts, CVG can transform seasonal facilities into active social hubs throughout the year.

Every transformative project starts with a vision. Where some see limitations, the right team sees potential. What started as a former warehouse facility has been reimagined as the new 30,000-SF Forge Virtual Studios in Hanover Park, the Midwest’s largest and most advanced virtual production facility.
Working as the architect on the EP Doyle & Son-led design-build team, Charles Vincent George Architects helped shape a space designed around flexibility, functionality, and immersive production experiences. The space now features expansive LED studio environments, production offices, tech-enabled collaboration spaces, and strategically repurposed shipping containers that now operate as editing and production suites, VIP lounges, entertainment areas, and catering spaces.
From early site evaluation through design, the goal was to create an environment that could support the fast-paced, evolving needs of modern production while delivering spaces that feel equally innovative behind the scenes. It’s exciting to see this vision now fully realized for Forge Virtual Studios and the creative community it was built to serve.

Not every redevelopment project requires working from a clean slate. In Normal, IL, a former Logan’s Roadhouse is being transformed into a modern retail destination that makes the most of the existing structure.
For this redevelopment, Charles Vincent George (CVG) Architects is reworking the former restaurant into a multi-tenant retail investment property for Tartan Realty Group, an approach rooted in adaptability and efficiency. Rather than starting from the ground up, the design maintains much of the original building, creating a more cost-effective renovation while still delivering a refreshed and functional environment.
Key updates include a new drive-thru service window and carefully integrated masonry and stone elements that complement the existing structure. Parapet extensions provide space for future tenant signage, while new storefront openings along the West face, relocation of utilities, new rooftop equipment, and interior demising walls create distinct, flexible tenant spaces. Added canopies at both the front and rear entries enhance accessibility and visibility, and site electrical upgrades support the demands of drive-thru operations.
The before-and-after visuals offer a preview of the finished project, a repositioned retail property designed to evolve with its tenants, with T-Mobile occupying the southern tenant space
A special thanks to our partners for making this redevelopment possible: FHS Build General Contractors, Farnsworth Group, Johnson Wilbur Adams, Inc., and RTM Engineering Consultants.

A well-designed office starts by envisioning how people best connect, collaborate, and work effectively.
For Wintrust’s 6th and 7th floor buildout in Rosemont, Charles Vincent George Architects partnered closely with the project team to shape a workplace that feels both intuitive and adaptable. The design balances open work areas with private offices, conference rooms, and smaller huddle spaces, creating a natural flow. These carefully integrated shared and independent spaces help reinforce a sense of connection across teams while still allowing individuals to work independently when needed.
It’s always rewarding to see a space come together in a way that enhances operational needs and company culture. Thankful to collaborate alongside wonderful partners, including Leopardo Construction, Colliers, and RTM Engineering Consultants.

The entire team at Charles Vincent George (CVG) Architects is committed to helping our clients envision what is possible. Although the project is still under construction, our 3D computer-generated animation provides an early look at the future office for Aldridge Electric, Inc.'s new headquarters. The renovated three-story office building will feature updated private and open offices, conference rooms in multiple sizes, collaboration spaces, a divisible training room, and employee spaces.
Working in close collaboration with the Owner’s branding team, the new space integrates Aldridge Electric’s 75+ year history, mission, and values, creating an environment that reflects both its successful past and its vision for the future.
A special thanks also goes to Stout Development Services, Inc., for helping us bring this project to life.
